Airline Overview
Virgin America (VX) merged with Alaska Airlines (AS) on 25 April 2018. The combined airline is now known as Alaska Airlines. The Alaska Airlines livery and logo are replacing the Virgin America brand. Aircraft with the Virgin America livery are expected to operate into late 2019 (the expected completion date for repainting all aircraft in the Alaska Airlines livery). Virgin America was a California-based low-cost carrier serving more than 20 destinations within the United States and Mexico. The airline's all Airbus fleet was configured with two classes of service: First Class and Main Cabin (Economy Class). Within the Main Cabin, passengers could opt for Main Cabin Select seats. These seats offered more legroom and were located at the bulkheads and exit rows. Virgin America operated hubs at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
