What is Unaccompanied Minor Service?

Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be Unaccompanied Minors. Most airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.

What age does my child have to be to qualify as an Unaccompanied Minor?

  • Infants younger than two years old: not accepted as Unaccompanied Minors on any Royal Jordanian flight.
  • Children ages 2-5 years old: may be accepted for travel as Unaccompanied Minors provided a Royal Jordanian escort is arranged at least 48 hour in advance through RJ Reservations. Travel is permitted on a scheduled flight and only to RJ gateways.
  • Children ages 5-12 years old: accepted to travel from/to RJ gateways and to points beyond, except when traveling to USA and Canada, where they are accepted to travel only to RJ gateways.
  • Children ages 12-18 years old: Only accepted on flights to/from USA or Canada. They are accepted to travel to points beyond RJ gateways, provided onward travel is on a same day connection and the minimum connecting time is three hours.

Travel from/to RJ gateways: $60 USD
Travel to points beyond RJ gateways in USA and Canada: $ 100 USD

Are there any flight restrictions?

Unaccompanied minors can be checked only from Q.A.I.A. and not through RJ city terminal.
