Republic Airlines Baggage

For tickets purchased on or after September 4, 2008 for travel on or after October 21, 2008, Midwest Airlines charges for all checked bags.

Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item

Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:

  • Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 21in x 9.5in x 14in (length x width x height)

REMINDER: Bulkhead seats do not have underseat storage during take-off and landing. Read Bulkheads Explained

For tickets purchased on or after September 4, 2008 for travel October 21 and beyond:

  • No free Checked Baggage Allowance*
  • First piece of checked baggage: $15 each way (nonstop or connect)
  • Second piece: $25 each way
  • Pieces 3+: $100 for each piece, each way

*Exempt from the one piece of checked baggage limit are active members of the U.S. military and Midwest Miles Executive members. Wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, child car seats, and other mobility-assistive devices are also excluded.

For tickets purchased on or after May 24, 2008 for travel June 16 and beyond:

  • Checked Baggage Allowance: 1 Piece*
  • Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
  • Maximum Weight: 50 lb/23 kg

*Exempt from the one piece of checked baggage limit are active members of the U.S. military and Midwest Miles Executive members. Wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, child car seats, and other mobility-assistive devices are also excluded.

Excess Baggage Fees

  • Second bag: $20
  • Each additional bag: $50 each

Excess bags are only permitted if space is available.

Overweight Baggage Fees

  • Fee for any bag weighing 51-70 lb: $25
  • Fee for any bag weighing 71-100 lb: $50

Bags weighing more than 100 lb will not be accepted.

Oversize Baggage Fees

Fee for any bag between 63-115 inches: $80

Bags exceeding 115 inches will not be accepted.

Sports Equipment

Some checked items, such as surfboards and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee of $80 because of size, fragility, or other handling requirements while others may be checked in lieu of one of your checked bags. If you plan to travel with sporting equipment, contact Midwest Airlines directly to confirm packing regulations and fees.
