Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that emotional support animals have become a trending topic in aviation. Some airlines have made recent policy changes and closed loopholes in hopes of preventing animal incidents at 39,000 feet. Just this week, a passenger was turned away for trying to fly with an emotional support peacock. With that, here are some emotional support animals that have found themselves onboard a plane.

1. A Kangaroo

Back in 2010, this kangaroo sat snuggly in seat 4A on an American Airlines flight from LAX-DFW.

2. A Pig

Going back even further, an unruly 70-80 pound pig was spotted onboard a US Airways flight in 2004. Due to sanitary concerns, the pig and his owner were asked to disembark the plane before it left the gate.

3. A Duck

Meet Daniel the Emotional Support Duck! In 2016, Daniel was seen waddling up and down the aisle of an American Airlines flight between Charlotte and Asheville, North Carolina.

4. A Turtle (in socks with suction cups)

A flight attendant was surprised to find a passenger had brought her emotional support turtle Herman on board—and stuck him to the window using suction cups attached to his limbs. For everyone’s safety, the passenger was asked to stow Herman in his container for take-off and landing.

5. A miniature horse

Just last year, a miniature pony caught a flight to Tampa with Southwest. Even horses can fly—as long as they are registered service animals.
